U87-MG/RFP-luciferase cells are derived from the human glioblastoma cell line U87-MG by stably integration of a constitutive RFP-firefly luciferase expression construct. U87-MG cells are used to study the biology of glioblastoma, the mechanisms involved in glioma progression and therapeutic resistance, as well as to evaluate new therapeutic strategies, including chemotherapies, gene therapies, and immunotherapies. U87-MG/RFP-Luciferase cells stably express both RFP and firefly luciferase reporters, can be used for in vitro assays and in vivo imaging.
