Promoter selection plates

Overview

Whether you want to overexpress a gene or knockdown/knockout a gene in mammalian cells, using a promoter that is active and gives certain amount of target sequence expression level is critical for the success of the experiments. To simplify the promoter selection process, FenicsBIO provides promoter selection plates to test seven commonly used promoters (CMV, EF1a, CAG, UBC, PGK, SV40, MSCV) in one 96 well plate.

The promoter selection plates come as three types of reporter formats (TurboGFP, TurboRFP and firefly luciferase) for the flexibility to fit the need of your experiments. To be applied to wide range of cell types, the promoter reporters are provided as series dilutions of VSV-G psudotyped lentiviral particles, which have been functional titrated using genomic PCR in HT1080 cells. VSV-G pseudotyped lentivirus can transduce almost all types of mammalian cells, including primary cells and stem cells.

The first row of the plate contains medium alone as a negative control. Each of the other rows contains duplicate of six series dilutions of one of the seven promoter reporters. You can use the plate for one cell types with duplicate samples or use for two cell types with one set of reporters for each cell type.
