Description
COVID-19 is an acute respiratory disease caused by novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. For SARS-CoV-2 to get into the host cells, its spike protein binds to the Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor on the cell surface. Drugs interfering the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and ACE2 receptors may protect SARS-CoV-2 infection. SARS-CoV-2 spike protein pseudotyped GFP-firefly luciferase lentiviral particles were produced using SARS-CoV-2 spike protein as an envelope, allowing monitoring SARS-CoV-2 spike protein mediated cell entry by GFP and firefly luciferase signal.
